About Anna and Fred and their Greece

In 1991 we visited Greece for the first time. Our love for the country, the culture, the climate, the food, the language and the Greeks has grown ever since. We feel at home here and want to communicate this feeling to others.

In 2006 we started AnnaHiking and since then we’ve shown many guests around our beautiful Greek mountains.

Many people are familiar with the Greek beaches: is there more?

Sure there is! The mountaineous mainland offers a traditional way of live, closer to nature. Here you won’t find beaches, but gurgling streams, small houses hugging the mountainside and hospitable people.

Many islands have an inland which is begging to be explored, preferably on foot. You come across many lovingly kept little churches and monasteries, old mule paths, archeological treasures, myths and traditions.

This is the Greece we aim to acquaint you with.

We think we can, we speak the language, we are familiar with local habits and customs and we know our way around. Besides we’re biologists and we can explain many things you would otherwise perhaps not have noticed.
