Tour description

(Click here for the complete tour description as document.)

Corfu belongs to the Ionian Islands. These are located on the west side of the Greek mainland in the Ionian Sea and are greener than most Greek islands.

The capital and most important harbour is Corfu town, UNESCO protected inheritance. Tourist attractions are the fortress in Corfu Town and the Achilleion, the palace of the Austrian empress Elisabeth “Sissi”.

There are marvellous beaches and a protected wetland with many rare birds and flora.

On the island you’ll find lots of olive trees (6-10 million!) and high-quality olive oil is produced. Another local product is the kumquat, a small citrus fruit, which is conserved and used for a lovely liqueur.

The total length of the Corfu Trail is more than 200 kilometers. It runs from the southernmost to the northernmost tip of Corfu, to show you the very  best spots.

This tour takes in 10 stages of the Corfu Trail, which you’ll walk in 9 days. You’ll only miss part of the northeast coast.

It’s a tour for people who want to get to know all aspects of the island by walking a registered trail.

About the walks
The net walking time is between 4 and 7¼ hours (excluding the breaks). The terrain alternates between rough footpaths, cobbled mule paths (kalderimia), gravel roads and tracks, minor roads and beaches.
You’ll walk along mountain slopes and summits, through olive groves, taking in typically Corfiotic villages and meandering through the protected wetlands of the Korrision lagoon.
